Lotsa tools. A nice pair of vise grips, several combination wrenches, an adjustable wrench, a crowbar. I’ve found money in the past (even a $20 bill). Several cell phones. I don’t even stop for bungee cords or cargo straps.

Best spot is at the bottom part of a hill. When a truck goes up a hill, all the small stuff in the bed vibrates out the back.

Gloves and mittens. I collect them, and have been doing so for 15+ years. I put them up on a nearby fence post or hedge and if they aren’t gone in about 2 weeks, I bring them home. I wash them on 90 C to make sure they have nothing nasty left.
I have enough now for the big project that I am going to make out of them: A cloak of gloves and mittens. Yes, it is unhinged and I have no regrets.

Padlocks. My guess is that contractors’ trailers have them just slipped through the hasp unclosed and they bounce out.
They collect at the side of this 2-lane highway where they must wash down during rain storms.
