Hello everyone, I just found this chip on my new canyon bike. I saw it today but I could see it also on the pics that I took on the day I assembled it.
As this is a carbon frame, should I be worried?

Nope. That’s purely cosmetic.
Goes to show the downside of carbon for MTB, light but brittle
Definitely ask Canyon
If it’s new and not ridden. Why not return it. Seems like a quality control issue.
We can’t tell you with certainty whether the damage is only cosmetical, you should contact Canyon because with a new frame the least they should offer you is either to cover repaint cost (IF it is only cosmetical) or some discount. If they don’t, if it were me, i would return it and get a refund.
I would not accept that on a new bike.
Although it is not safety issue it sucks to have that on brand new bike.
The positive thing is now you don’t have to worry about putting the first scratch on that thing.
Looks like it got hit in that spot. Damage during transport or before packaging perhaps?
