Hey! My bike got stolen so I’m looking for a new one but am considering a vintage as I love the look/simplicity. I’m learning more about bikes but still don’t know a ton so just seeing if anyone could give a read on this model and perhaps the price it’s being sold at? The frame size is perfect for me but the seller is a bit of a drive away from me so can’t really check anything else out before purchasing.
Any help is massively appreciated, thanks!

It’s hard to tell a few key things from the photos. It’s not a bad bike and the price is in the neighborhood, depending on the tubing that the frame is made from, the components, and the condition. Most manufacturers had various types of bikes aimed at students, utility, racing, etc. This is an upper end bike, for serious riding. It has downtube shifters, brakes with adjusters, a forged stem and seatpost. The crank is a swaged construction, which isn’t as good as a forged spider. It’s a good bike, and if it’s in good shape, that’s an ok price, though not the deal of the century. If you’re looking for a real top end bike, look for Vitus, Columbus, Tange or Reynolds tubing, butted, with forged dropouts. This might be a good one, just can’t get the info from the photos.
