  1. 2012 Cannondale Trail SL5

$300 max if in rather good condition, $200 to $250 fair value average condition, since it’s the base model with the most basic entry level components.

    MSRP was around $750.

It does have mountain bike tires. They have narrower numerous knobs for hard pack trials and gravel instead of fewer wider knobs for softer conditions.

  2. No. It has dated geometry, a 3x drivetrain, and mechanical disc brakes. The problem isn’t that this is no longer worthy of trails, because it was fine 10+ years ago and it’s fine now.

However, technology trickles down and you can get an Ozark Trail Ridge 29er at Walmart for $398 that has equivalent brakes, an equivalent (if not better) fork, a better drivetrain, and better geometry.

$400 is too high an asking price for that bike and $375 isn’t enough off. That’s worth closer to $200 and you’d grow out of it pretty quickly for mountain biking.
