I found this bike or cleaning out my grandparents garage. That wants you to remember when they bought it but it was definitely used and sometime in the 1960s. While I’ve collected old Raleigh’s and Bianchi‘s over the years I’ve never seen a Hermes bike and cannot seem to find much information on it. Anything that you guys could help with would be greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

  1. I don’t know the marque, but it has a French vibe to me. Maybe it was a smaller sub-brand of one of the bigger manufacturers?

  2. Hermes is a french luxury goods brand, mostly handbags and fashion, so this bike was most likely made by another company and simply rebranded, the way LL Bean rebranded Cannondales.
If Hermes really wanted to put a luxury touch to it, I’m sure they would have done the seat and grips in leather or something flashy.
The split top tube, that fork crown and those lugs look cool though. Reminds me of a Monark or something similar.
