I'm not real into bmx but I have one that a ride around everywhere, I'm looking to put brakes back on it, unfortunately I don't have the original ones and am wondering what kind (u-brake or v-brake) my bike needs. My bike is a kink gap xl but I'm not sure what year. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

For just riding around I’d suggest Odyssey Springfields. Inexpensive. Work well enough (wouldn’t trust them for stalls but would for stopping). And they’re easy to install. I have a set on my Fairdale.
