Considering AEROAD CF SL 8 purchase. Wondering if I can’t really swap aero cockpit for regular stem/bar. Interested in triathlons, so tri bars appeal. Must I opt for pricier Trek/Scott with cockpit change restriction? I plan to do regular road cycling, around 80-90%, so I’m not considering a dedicated triathlon bike.

Canyons will have the larger 1-1/4 in (31.8mm) steerer tube so that will also make the search for the a stem a bit of an issue. It is an amazing bike, though. If youre just getting started and doing short events i see people entering with mountain bikes and cruisers.
Why not just use clip on bars?
