  1. I had to ask locals for suggestions of cheese when we were in France last. Overwhelming.

I bet you'd never ride that rig to get groceries in SD 😂 especially from a SFH zoned neighborhood.

More simple life. I like it!

  2. Wow, it's a dead ringer for Colorado. Here in France the unpasteurized cheese is amazing. Also being able to buy a case of good wine for 13 Euros still blows my mind …

  3. I never thought of this through this prism but "Lil' America" is a proper nicknames for the French zones commerciales setup close to middle and big cities, it reminds me of Thomas Dolby "Pulp Culture" Lyrics :
    I drove all over Hollywood
    Looking at the stars
First I ate my Milky Way
    Then I ate my Mars
    But sucking on a Galaxy
    I noticed something pretty bizarre
There's not a lot of people there
Just an awful lot of cars

  4. – Technically, there are more than 1200 different cheeses in France. And yes, we don't know exactly how many we have!

    – Casino (the store) is not known for being inexpensive. The products they want to sell are at eye level and the cheapest at the bottom. The flagship products (eggs, bread, milk, etc.) are at the back of the store, so if you want to buy them, you have to cross aisles where you might be tempted to buy more things.

    – Yes, there is “Vegan” food in France. But there are so many other good things to eat in France, other than vegetables or grass to graze on (that doesn't nourish you). Coming to France to eat Vegan food is like going to Japan and eating seaweed, but no Shushi, going to Italy and not eating Pizza, etc…

Someone a day have say : “Most of us are lucky to see Paris once in a lifetime. Make the most of it by doing as little as possible. Walk a little, get lost a bit, eat, catch a breakfast buzz, have a nap, try and have sex if you can, just not with a mime. Eat again. Lounge around drinking coffee. Maybe read a book. Drink some wine, walk around a bit more, eat, repeat. See? It’s easy.”
