Hey y’all, I’m trying to get into the bike maintenance gang and I got this bike from a family friend. It has this squeaky sound and I have no idea what it is. Originally I thought it was due to my brakes but it’s apparent without me even pressing the brakes. I have greased the chain and some other general maintenance tasks. Any thoughts?

That’s your brake pad rubbing. Adjust your pads, make sure there’s equal clearance and that they’re toed in slightly (front edge of pad slightly closer to the rim at rest)
