  1. NO, I think all that follows is wrong. 6 and 8 speed should be the same size.

    [I don’t actually KNOW if that’s a 6-speed chain, but that could be what the 6x inscription means. And it’s running on an 8-speed cassette. 6-speed chains are wider than 8 speed chains, and wider than the spaces between the cogs… so it would make sense to become a problem.]

  2. mark the link with a dot or something then rotate the drivetrain until it happens again. if its the highlighted link again its stuck. if its some other link then chain and cassette are somewhat incompatible…

    if a certain link is stuck spray some wd40 or similar stuff and work it free or replace the link with a chain lock.

  3. Severe lack of chain lube. Links that stiff it’s probably best to get a new chain. You’ll be blown away at how much easier it is to pedal

  4. Prob just a stiff link and if lube doesn’t fix it just grab it with both hands and move it. Bending it back and forth slightly may help if it’s especially stiff.
