Hello Everyone, I recently bought a brand new YT
Capra core 1 at the end of July and have had nothing but issues. I primarily have ridden downhill and some enduro trails on this bike. Please keep in mind I have less than 10 rides on it. The problems started my first ride on the bike. When I got it I immediately set it up tubeless and on the first ride I got a flat and after I realized there was 3 punctures in the rear tire that wouldn’t even seal. And there was a decent sized dent in the rim already. Also the SRAM Nx derailleur shifted horribly and wouldn’t even survive one section of downhill. This happened all on a blue flow trail at Mt. Bachelor so nothing crazy at all. I thought I just got unlucky with the tires and over the next few rides the chain wouldn’t even stay on the bike. The derailleur would constantly shift off even if I adjusted it before every ride. I contacted Yt about the issues and they told me they wouldn’t do anything about the tires and said I could warranty the derailleur. Since I have primarily been riding bike park and jump trails I decided to ditch gears and opted for a single speed and new dh tires. I forked over more than $300 for these
“upgrades” and thought I would be all set. This was all after about 6 or 7 rides on the bike. The next ride the headset started making a horrible creaking noise. Also mid run my thru axle literally popped out of the frame which I don’t understand at all because I torqued it to spec literally a week before. I don’t think I should have to tighten my thru axle before every ride. So I decided to take off the fork to address the creaking noise. I noticed that my Then after reinstalling the fork I was tightening down the top cap to torque when it just snapped.
It’s made up of shitty plastic. I just pulled the top cap off my hardtail and put it on this bike. My brake rotars were also rubbing so I took off my front caliper to push the pistons back then upon reinstalling it the top bolt wouldn’t tighten. I thought huh that’s weird. On further inspection the mounting point on the rockshox zeb was stripped! I couldn’t believe it. I have since contacted Yt and have heard nothing from them in 3 days. It feels like I have barley ridden this bike and every time I ride it something breaks. I don’t know what I should do. I would love to get my money back and get buy a different bike from another brand. I don’t understand why Yt markets this as an Enduro/ Downhill bike when it can’t even handle one ride. I have also owned a older Yt in the past and never had any stupid issues like this. I am a 16 year old kid and spent my own hard earned money on this bike and it really upsets me that I can’t even ride it. My dad also has a Commencal Clash with very similar specs and even with a worse drivetrain and he has had for around a year and has had zero problems.
He rides just as hard as I do if not harder. If anyone has any input or recommendations on what I should do or why YT is now making bikes with cheap parts I would love to hear some feedback. Thanks for reading.

  1. The fork isn’t a YT Capra it’s a Rockshox Zeb the YT part of this equation is only applicable because the bike brand will handle your warranty.

The plastic top cap is stupid and cheap, but you bought an online brand to save money with a DB8 as brake spec to save even more money, plastic cap shouldn’t be a surprise. Use this as an opportunity to buy a top cap in a colour you like, they’re cheap.

  2. That thread stripping sucks.

Thrue axles coming loose. Ive had that on some bikes. mainly in the rear.

Couldnt find a solution other than permanently having a lever installed with a zip tie to keep it from rotating.
