  1. A helmet is a good idea on city streets . It is just borrowing an idea from nature . Helmets look and function the same as turtle shells. They make sense for certain types of head injury . I agree they would not protect against a car's tire rolling over ones leg but your noggin holds your brain . The other thing if its too hot with helmet on take it off immediately then cycle to water quickly .

  2. I found this. A short piece of an American article. It made me laugh. "Children ages 3 and 4 years are in a period of significant gross motor skills development. They learn to balance on one foot; walk on their tiptoes; and climb, hop and skip. Three-year-olds can pedal, use a handlebar and operate three-wheeled vehicles, such as tricycles, but they do not have the balance required to operate a bicycle with only two wheels" LMAO. She's obviously never been to The Netherlands.

  3. She also took on the responsibility of taking her doll with her!
But mom and dad can do a lot better: no lights on their bikes and no reflector at mom's bike (which is legally required)…

  4. I have seen that they do it the same way in the rest of the Netherlands, so not only in Holland. When shall many Dutch stop calling their own country Holland…? They should know better!
