I personally hate big fenders like this on bikes that are meant to be ridden rather fast over rough terrain as they either start rubbing due to getting misaligned from the bumps, or they block the wheels from moving when riding over mud. Plus they’re a pain to take on and off, and you’ll still get wet from rain and/or your own sweat. Notice that even with full-coverage fenders like this, your feet will still get wet from your front wheel’s water spray.
I ride to work in all weather, so I just learned to embrace getting wet and muddy. I do use a [Win Wing](https://ass-savers.com/products/win-wing-2-gravel-black-dots) on both my bikes which keeps me reasonably clean and dry from the knees up, is easy to remove or install and hardly ever gets misaligned. I also use a [fork fender](https://ass-savers.com/collections/front-fenders-mudguards/products/mudder) like this to keep water from flying between the stanchions and up into my face on bikes with a suspension fork. I just ride in cycling gear and change/shower when I get to work.

The way those fenders mount is super clean. I didn’t think there were any mounting bosses on the inside of the seat stays and fork but don’t see the usual rubber seats and straps for universal mounts. Also what’s holding the fender under the fork crown?

I put fenders on my Checkpoint as Iām a commuter as well, mostly gravel on the way to work, and mostly road on the way home. So much more enjoyable just taking that concern out of the ride, bring on the rain.
