I rode 40-100 miles travel rides on my $500 giant escape hybrid. Not bragging just saying that gravel can be cheap and fun

I am neither a roadbiker, nor a mountainbiker, but I will say the gear obsession is real, and it is in everything cycle related.
Been commuting/riding gravel for nearly 10 years and spent like 2.5k total on new bike + repairs. (2015 Surly Straggler)
People are being brainwashed into “needing” bikes that are ridiculously expensive, this community included.
