If you want a (heavy) Suspension fork, take the trail.

Depends on the kind of riding you do

I had the same question. I just bought the Grizl CF SL 8 1by today. My use for the suspension would be around 2% of my riding, since I won’t be doing crazy trails that often. Even quite a bit of tarmac mixed in as well, so I chose not to get the front suspension.
Sure it would be great in some situations, but I think overall it would, for me, be better to go without.

the “normal one”. If you are doing single track, get a mountain bike — but this is just me.

I mostly do road, but on the weekends I get to use mountain trails/woods trails. So I’d say 70-30, but enjoying wild trails much more than regular roads. Its just that I live in a city and it takes a while to get to the nearest forest, so during weekdays I am unable to find time for that.
