Hi guys,

Today i recieved my new road bike. Once i opened the box, the first thing i noticed was the weldings.

I have read that the US doesn't get sanded down welds and Europe does (weird). But is this considered Europe standard?

It doesn't give me the carbon vibe like the website says so.

What do you think?

Ps. Please drop photo's of your welds (European)

FYI: I'm from the Netherlands

Thanks! 🙂

  1. These are non-smooth welds, like in the USA. Someone else posted before they also received this version in Europe, too.

I would return it, it’s clearly not what it’s stated and advertised on the website.

  2. It’s an aluminum bike. It’s strong. You may notice the welds today, but in a few days/weeks it won’t matter. My advice: ride it.

  3. Last week they had a AL7 RAW in stock. So might want to check what it’s says on the invoice.

It’s not that bad. In any case who cares… Just ride it. If you don’t like return and get a carbon but in my opinion as non pro the only real advantage of carbon is comfort.

Other than thst my alu was and is still great after 20 falls or so 😂😂

  5. I’m complained about my grizl and they refunded me $150 bucks and gave me a performance t-shirt. Out of my 3 canyons it’s the only one that didn’t match its website description.

  6. Steel wheel builder here. Sanding down a weld removes critical material thickness in a joint. While it may be more aesthetically pleasing, seeing the full finished weld shows me it was done correctly and fully laps the tubes.
