  1. Well…that was depressing… why not try to identify "twins" for each of these…. twins similar is all metrics except the nasty ones. Then work out why the difference.
    It usually come down to investment.

  2. In defense of Swindon…Swindon is well placed between Bristol, Bath in the west…and Oxford, Reading London in the East. With the Cotswolds to the north and the Wiltshire downs to the south. Swindon is a relatively affluent town…and is expanding rapidly. The centre is in decline as retail has moved to the edges of the town. But housing in Swindon is far more affordable than neighboring towns and cities…..and the town has many fine parks and green spaces…So the picture is mixed…Very mixed!

  3. MANY years ago I stayed for a a couple months in Slough, sharing a house with a couple co-workers. It was, even at that time, the most depressing place I've ever lived.
