Hello all,

I have a sram force group set and my 12 speed cassette is noisy as hell. I know this is a know solution. I can’t get it to quiet down and neither can my mechanic.

The cassette is the kind that is all silver with the largest cog being black.

From what I can tell there are a few attempts at a solution.

1) i could buy a red cassette but I would like to avoid dropping 350 on a cassette

2) buy a 30 buck secret elastomer kit for all cogs. My cassette has 3 elastomer installed in between the smallest cogs. Does adding elastomers in between every cog make that much of a difference?

3) for 70 bucks I could buy a 105 cassette (or ultegra) for my sram axs group set. Heard mixed opinions on if this would work or not. I have a shimano free hub body so I can throw it on.

Do you all have any strong opinions or have solution emerged that I just haven’t found yet?

Edit: the shifting is fine it is just the noise as it passing thru cassette and to a degree pulley wheel. Fully wireless group set was really my only choice for this frame.

It sounds louder than this https://youtu.be/WTf_YQ5px6U but is generally same noise.

Thanks! appreciate it!

i usually joke that running SRAM is like driving an ultra light car that shifts like a mack truck.

is it just shifting noise or just the metal on metal chain running through the cassette and derailleur.

  2. I recently put force axs on my supersix, did you put an xdr hub on rear wheel as I had to swap my shimano hub out for the sram one.
