  1. Sram Rival 10 speed medium cage: [https://www.jensonusa.com/SRAM-Rival-10-Speed-Rear-Derailleur](https://www.jensonusa.com/SRAM-Rival-10-Speed-Rear-Derailleur)

It is not from the Rival 1 groupset. Those derailleurs have a stylized “1” on them and a clutch. It will work in a 1x drivetrain, but isn’t ideal for offroad use because of the lack of a clutch.

Will work with 11 speed cassettes if paired with 11 speed Exact Actuation SRAM shifters such as from the rival 22 groupset (not to be confused with X Actuation, which is not the same).

SRAM 10 speed road shifters are pretty old by this point, and they have a habit of wearing out. New Old Stock models are probably ridiculously expensive.

I don’t think I would personally try to build a group around that derailleur at this point in time unless I had most of the parts already. There are some great options out there that will end up being cheaper and offer newer tech (plus sram mechanical front shifting always kinda sucked, so definitely don’t go for 2x)

I’d have a look at microshift sword & advent X, Shimano Tiagra and GRX 10/11 speed. There are some great possible combinations if you pick one of those manufacturers and then pick the parts from those groups to suit your needs. They shift well, are durable, offer clutches for 1x systems, and are great bang for your buck.
