Any next steps for chasing this creak? I recently replaced the bb, all frame pivot bearings. I can feel the click in my left foot. It only happens when putting out higher power/climbing.

We’ve had creaking water bottle bolts as an issue at the shop, regreased and the issue was fixed

Clean and grease the pedal threads. If that doesn’t work then pull the pedals apart and grease the pedal shaft. If the problem persists then find out what bearing your pedals use and find some replacements on the internet. They’ll probably only cost a few dollars. Also worth making sure any hardware on the bike is properly greased and torqued to spec.

  3. Pedals, then seatpost, saddle clamp, stem, bars…

Sounds can travel a long way!

Clean those parts thoroughly then grease and reassemble.

When this happened to me recently (same exact conditions, same exact attempted fixes), the culprit ended up being undertightened nuts on the crank arms. I only figured that out when the crank finally came off mid-ride. When I re-attached everything, the click was gone.

  5. I had a creaking that was coming from my set of mallets e. No play, no roughness, but got them clean and greased and no more noise was coming while pedalling. Easy job to discard before anything else.

  6. Make a list of all the parts on your bike and then try to eliminate them.

E.g. does it happen while pedalling only? or when static and bouncing on the cranks? does it happen when seated or standing?

I would try torquing the chainring, cassette, and saddle rails. I’d also take a look at what happens while you’re pedalling off the bike. Could it be skipping a gear or a pulley wheel tooth?
