Sorry I posted a couple of days ago and got good advice (https://www.reddit.com/r/whichbike/s/bYMvkuvVgb). Since then this bike has become available, a 2018 Giant Contend SL 1 in my size. It's advertised for €400. Probably I can get seller down to €350.
It's obviously a better bike than the Scott Speedster 20 I was looking at for €200 (frame and 105 vs Tiagra). It also appears to be in better condition. Should I just go for the better and more expensive bike now? I can afford it I suppose but this would be more stretching it.

IMO, it’s a fair deal, just not a steal lol. That’s around what alloy frames, Shimano 105, and rim brakes go for locally here (~$350-$500 USD)
I spent $600 for my bike which is of a similar spec, so I’d say its worth it.
Much better than the scott, seems to be in good condition, worth it.
I just got one myself for $300 USD. Try seeing if you can talk them down.
