I find the specs on this new Bike Friday model to be an interesting comparison to the rumors about the Brompton G Line, including:
* Bosch hub drive
* 20″ wheels
* braze-ons for compatibility with most standard front & rear racks
* disc brakes
* drivetrain options for 9-speed chain drive, 8-pseed Alfine hub with Gates belt drive, or 12-speed wireless chain
* optional drop bars
We’ve gone so far in stem design that we’ve reverted to goosenecks

i honestly do not think that Bike Friday is a real competitor or threat to Brompton. that bike is basically a Lego-ish minivelo, not a real folding bike. tern / dahon / Rieser-Müller Birdy / Velo / Ahooga should be the better candidates for comparison.

Of course, the prices _start_ north of $5000, and climb considerably from there, so if [the rumored details are accurate](https://www.reddit.com/r/Brompton/comments/1f7knq9/some_faqs_for_g_line/), the Brompton G may come out looking like the more “affordable” alternative, it seems.
