same exact thing happened to me on my Cannondale Synapse with those 4-bolt FSA rings. I was just pedalling out of a trackstand and it flopped over!!!!

I did that once on my smallest chainring on a 3 by, still not sure how I did that on my recumbent starting from a stop. Btw on bents you often down shift to at a stop because you need an easier gear to get rolling.
