Couldn’t edit the other post so here’s another one. Those loose straps were meant to hold the bass, so there’s nothing in contact with the wheel when it’s hooked up. The amp didn’t slide or move at all during my ride to the destination and back, and I was able to ride my bike properly!
I WILL be investing in higher quality ratchet straps and bungees though due to what many people said. Thanks guys!

Glad it worked out! This is the type of non-passenger thing that makes me bother loading up the bakfiets for. Not a viable solution in your case probably as they’ve become expensive as all hell.

I’ve used one to haul all sorts of weird shaped objects (weed whacker, bags of mulch, pizzas, cases of beer/seltzer), they’re really adaptable and handy!
To be fair it’s a bass amp, it’ll survive.
