Congrats. I also concur with the others about your saddle being to low. You can seriously mess up the cartilage in your knees when your legs are not properly extending on your pedal strokes (I know from personal experience, even before my fixed days).
My advice is if/when you do start to raise the saddle, go up just a few mm’s at a time and ride it like that for an hour, or so before you raise it more. It won’t seem so drastic like all at once and before long, you will start feeling how much better the riding experience is.
I know it’s the law for two brakes in Japan, but you should still get some foot retention. Hitting a pothole in the road is a lot different on fixed, than a single speed. You can get bucked off your bike and get hurt. Lastly, drive-side pics look nicer.
