Hey y'all, wanted to get some input from anyone who's run these maxxis hookworms on their bike before. I've been riding my trail bike around town and having a blast with how overkill it is for a commuter. I was looking for a tire with lower rolling resistance like the rekon race for the pavement, but these look like they'd have better longevity and handling on the road. Has anyone run these tires on their big bike, and/or have a similar BMX style tire in a 29er size? If so, if like to know what tire you used and how it's worked for you. All the videos I can find of these are on BMX bikes, so I was hoping some people on here are running them on a bike more similar to mine (2nd pic). Any insight would be appreciated 👍

We have a pair of Hookworms on a newer Rockhopper (hardtail) – 29″ x 2.5″.
Notables:
They don’t wear quickly.
They are very wide.
They provide more cushion to the ride than standard street tires.
Rolling resistance isn’t as good as a skinny street tire, but it’s an improvement over knobs.
They are flatly dangerous on many dirt surfaces. I’ve had a few “adventures” on dirt with these.
We had one blow off the rim when seating the bead at high pressure; I attribute that to the rim bead as much as the tire, but it was brown-stripe-level of frightening and is easily avoided but not inflating to high pressures.
