Local mtb guy and original owner said it was broken and he was throwing it away or taking it to goodwill. Luckily, some friends know my obsession with outdated 26” bikes and told him I’d want it, so he said take it to him. It’s a 2001 Santa Cruz superlight, full XTR groupset, mavic crossmax wheels, Easton carbon bars, rockshox Sid front fork (most likely replaced the fox that blew at some point), fox float rc rear shock, maxxis lust tubeless tires.

The bike was in rough shape. Awful stem extender, limit screws all out of whack, shifters seized up, but otherwise in really good shape. Shocks still work and hold air, tires look like they’ve seen almost zero miles and are still holding air. After 30 minutes on the stand, it was shifting good enough.

Decided to recable it and ride it as is. Couldn’t find a stem cap in my unorganized mess of a spare parts bin, so I’ve got a new one on the way.

For its age, this is a crazy nice bike. Can’t wait to get it on the trails.

I want to feverishly high five you, then kick you in the balls and steal this.
Seriously, this is the most retarded “barn find” of a bike I’ve ever seen.
    Go play the lottery.
