  2. Is the ultrasonic big enough to fit your cassette?

For chains – How worth is it compared to cleaning with the jar method?

  3. What do your friends and family do to keep themselves occupied during the 1/2 day it takes to complete your chain regimen. (I keed. I keed.)

  4. My deal takes about an hour. Start the crockpot. Start boiling water in a small saucepan. Wipe off chain. Pull the chain. Drop chain in saucepan of boiling water. Stir gently. Pour off wax floating on top. Add more water and stir. Pour off wax floating on top. Pour out water. Pour chain on to towel to cool. Fill sonicator with orange Zep. Place chain in Zep for 15-20 minutes. Pour alcohol in quart mixing cup. Remove chain from Zep and rinse under tap. Quick dry with a clean towel. Place chain in mixing cup and agitate for a few minutes. Remove chain and evaporate all alcohol with compressed air or a towel. String chain on a flexible wire or ziptie. Place in wax. Turn crockpot off once all wax is melted. Agitate from time to time. Once wax begins to skin-over, remove and let cool/cure. Break each and every pivot point above your crockpot, recovering the priceless wax that drops off of the chain. Put chain back on bike. Slowly crank and help the chain to engage until at least one full pass of the chain. Cry when you see how much wax was knocked off of the outside of the chain and on to your dirty floor.
