I’m not well versed on bike terminology, so forgive me.
But my rear chain looks to be getting caught on other gears. Any way to realign the chain or prevent this from happening?

Yes! Hard to explain in a comment. But its the indexing. Park tool has a good video guide on this
When was the last time you had a new chain?
It’s tough to fix something if you didn’t know what to Google! You need to adjust your rear derailleur. Hopefully you just need to adjust the barrel adjusters. Look for YouTube videos about this, it’s an easy fix
Chain is either stretched or it’s the wrong side. Could also be a warn cassette, chain wheel and jockeys
In random order: look to see the cog teeth are not deformed and/or chain links are not excessively worn; does the chain catch that one particular cog or others? have you tried the [barrel adjuster](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kp0o4IpLJns)? have you checked the alignment of the derailleur hanger?
Wrong chain or it’s not adjusted properly. Turn the barrel adjuster. Also check derailleur alignment
I just fixed a similar problem by tightening the rear shift cable. It was a simple nut on the shifter. I had to move it counter clockwise 1/4 turn at a time.
Turn the barrel adjuster in on the shift runtkl it does to this.
I don’t trust diagnosing an Upside-down bike. Does it happen when riding?
If so, Turn barrel adjuster 1/2 turn clockwise to reduce tension. That will move the derailleur a tiny bit away from the larger cog.
I know some will disagree with me, but IMO, your first step should be to ensure the [derailer hanger is aligned.](https://www.parktool.com/en-us/product/derailleur-hanger-alignment-gauge-dag-2-2) If you don’t want to spend money on the tool or the time it takes to learn/utilize it, you’re better off visiting a local bike shop.
Barrel adjust should fix this
