7 ordinary people – from a dance teacher to a phlebotomist – are about to make a life changing decision. They’re becoming Police Officers. With exclusive access to Surrey Police, the Rookies and their families, this series reveals what it is like to be dropped into the front line of law enforcement without any experience and how this impacts their loved ones.

Tyne and Antony face one of their toughest shifts yet when they have to manage a volatile suspect in custody who threatens to harm them and himself. Meanwhile Claudia has to deal with something that never came up in training school – a man that wants to be arrested.

In the climax of the series the rookies finally hit the streets alone, away from the watchful eye of their tutors who have guided them through their first steps into life on the frontline. They have to assist with calls ranging from theft to an attempted murder.

  1. I know of 1 cop who will never forget his 1st 'nicking'.
It was also the 1st time i got arrested.
Life at home was kak,i was 15 years old.
I did,and still admit i started a tumble a tumble with some other dude, but he embelished it to be worse.
    I got gripped walking 'home'.
While cuffed up in the back of the car, this cop put a glove on finger by finger(he must have seen too many plop films),turned around and bopped me on the hooter.
He had a huge cop guy with him who just kept silent.
At the station he was getting high fives for 'breaking his duck'.
Hours later they managed to locate my mum to be present in the interview.
I admitted what i d id but also explain that he bopped me.
    He denied it.
I gave him a physical domonstration of what he did to me and a bit more.
Big dude was there, and he left me to it until it was game over, only then did he intervene.
And the rest of the station turned up.
6 months later i got a job,the guy that was giving me a start had some kind of outstanding warrant.
The same cop followed him to where i was staying to grip him.
Apparently, this cop spent more time telling my new employer not to employ me because im no good.

The last time i saw this cop,i was watching CrimeWatch on satellite TV, in my bar, overlooking my swimming pool here in South Africa.
Tedder, you might have made it to DCI,but ive made it even further, bigger and better than you.
    Potato nose ginger.
