Looks like they’re still using the plastic sliders that don’t feel great after they are worn in. And the same reservoir design which leads to wandering bite-point issue (hopefully they placed the ports somewhere else and fixed the issue, it was unacceptable to have > $200 brakes with inconsitent lever feel)
It’s kind of hard to tell if they finally increased the piston size inside the lever like almost every other brand (Sram with the Mavens, Heyes, TRP…) but from the fact that they would need a longer lever to account for that and the lever looks about the same I don’t think they did.
Overall I would say it’s kind of meh, it looks flashy and futuristic but probably has the same tech inside as the 15 year old brakes. Servo-wave and all.

[VitalMTB’s tech rumours thread](https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/The-Hub,2/2020-MTB-Tech-rumors-and-innovation,10797) has discussed both the brakes and the device hanging off the back of the rear triangle. Dive in.
It looks like a monobloc caliper, based on the clearly visible bore caps, which are also clearly different diameters.
Anyway it strongly resembles a recently published [Shimano patent](https://wheelbased.com/2024/08/21/disc-brake-caliper-of-human-powered-vehicle-by-shimano/).
Pinkbike has some more pictures. https://m.pinkbike.com/news/spotted-new-shimano-brakes-and-dh-drivetrain.html
