  1. During our camping holiday near Venice, we rented an electric long tail style cargo bike by SUM in order to get around on 2 wheels with our 2 kids.
To try some new routes, we decided to take the waterbus to the island of Sant’Erasmo and bring our bikes with us. This island produces most of the vegetables and fruit for the city of Venice. The ride was mostly empty roads, but we also encountered quite a bit of really gnarly (at least on this bike with the 2 kids on the back) gravel and rocky bits with low hanging branches and bushes hanging in our way. It felt like plowing through the jungle, the kids loved it at least as much as I did! We lapped the whole island in about 12km.
The bike has a rigid carbon fork, really comfy seating for 3, 650B up front and 20 inch in the rear and a trying really hard 8 speed microshift.
Added bonus: lots of storage space for pizza to go, a freshly harvested watermelon and some bottles of island grown sparkling wine, as well as a sixpack of 2L water bottles that we picked up on our way back to the campsite.
Still, I really miss my carbon Revolt gravel bike as well as our Transporter65 cargo bike that we both left at home.
