Hi all, I’m new to dealing with bikes and figured I’d get your advice before messing with my bike.
My Liv Avail 3 came with a set of brake levers on the handlebars. How would one go about removing these? A photo of a similar system is attached for reference

I’ve done this before.
I removed the levers and had to replace the cables, hoses and bar tape.
If you would rather not unwrap/rewrap the handlebars and replace the entire cable housing (proper way to do it) you can replace the inner brake cables, and while they are out remove the cross-top levers, replacing them with either inline cable adjusters or oilers to join the housing.

So the proper way to do this would be to untape your bars, remove the cables and housing, add in new housing at the proper length, and then reassemble. You might have to add a longer piece of housing from the handlebars to the adjusters.
