  1. I do this. Not at all ashamed. If you can afford to, why not? High end gear is so much nicer than beginner shit.

  2. In guitars, these are always referred to as “doctors and lawyers.” That demographic keeps the high end instrument business above water. The “I want the best of the best gear so that one day when I do actually practice, I will sound just like Jimmy Page” or whatever… that’s a HUGE part of that industry.

In bikes, in any wealthy suburb, Freds can’t complete a garage without hanging a Moots or a Madone on the wall, over that polished floor. 911 Convertible optional.

  3. In football (soccer for the freedom country), it’s Full Kit Wankers. Granted, it’s more for people who are decked head to toe in perfect professional gear while being more capable of rolling than running, but could work here regardless.

My first bike was a revolt 2, not the best ever but much better than a $300 used bike off Facebook.

I ride it once a day. I live in Canada so winter isn’t a season I can really ride in. I’m buying a zwift subscription and waiting for the kickr to come in. It’s an expensive first setup but I’m enjoying it all so far
