The marathon’s trails were impeccably maintained, evident in the well-mowed sections, cleared paths, leveled forest ditches, and strategically placed wooden boards covering gaps. The course was also excellently marked. In addition to the markers, volunteers were stationed at crucial turns and potentially dangerous spots.
There were three feed zones along the loop, allowing you to stop whenever it suited you or skip them if you didn’t need a break (for instance, after the first 10km). The gathering spot was perfect, offering ample parking for participants and visitors, all within the cool shade of the forest—making it a pleasant experience for everyone. My girlfriend, for example, spent a lovely day reading a book while I was out on the course.
The registration process was smooth, with no unnecessary complications or long waits. Participants could enjoy free coffee and bakery treats, which is a nice bonus. Later, there were also complimentary drinks and a fantastic meal!
Besides the marathon, a Renaissance Festival was happening in Koprivnica, which we also visited and rounded up the day with a stroll around the festival.
