Curves in general CAN be functional if designed right, curved seatstays or forks come up time and time again with marketing saying they act as springs and absorb vibration, predominantly in regards to carbon framesets on high end road bikes and gravel bikes, a curved top tube can also influence the stepover height, but in that shape and regarding those sections of the frame they’re almost guaranteed to be aesthetic.
