These two bikes are roughly the same price. No difference in wheelset or specs (except maybe brake rotors?)
1) Endurace CF SLX 8 Di2 Aero: https://www.canyon.com/en-us/road-bikes/endurance-bikes/endurace/cf-slx/endurace-cf-slx-8-di2-aero/2740.html

So why is one labeled Aero and what makes it weigh 0.27lb less? On other models, aero denotes that it is a carbon wheelset. These both have the DT Swiss ERC 1400 Dicut so now I’m confused…

There was a time when Canyon tried to make the Ultimate more attractive by offering an aero-optimized frame which was a bit different to the standard frames. Now it seems to have also translated to the Endurance, but prob all frames nowadays are the aero-optimized version?! The fotos at least seems to both show an aero-optimized frame.
Which is kind of bs anyway, since on such a bike, position will dictate 90% of how aero and fast one is.
Either way: putting that swinging seat-post on a road-bike, especially an Endurance with tire-clearence is so unneccessary and will loose you so much power… Esh!
The first one (2740) was from the first model year and the “aero” in the name specified that it had “deeper” carbon wheels (I can’t remember if there was another SLX 8 Di2 at the same time with shallower wheels). The second (3711) is the current model year and they simply dropped the “aero” from the naming. It’s otherwise the same frame in different colors.
I think one has Conti and the other Schwalbe tires, so that could explain some of the weight difference.
Canyon rep confirmed via chat the 2025 models labeled “new stock” dropped the “aero” term. So same as 2024 “aero” in the SLX trim. Only difference is the new colorways, tires (Schwalbe vs Conti), brake rotors. That might explain the very modest weight difference.
The more expensive bike has the new colors, Schwalbe tires (instead of Grand Prix), and Ultra rotors (instead of Deore). If it were me, I’d buy the one with the color that I liked best.
