I dont doubt it was an amazing bike for the time but right now The bikes geometry is really outdated and inefficient id recommend looking for something a bit newer, if i were you id get myself a second hand hardtail, thats has a more revised geometry, trek hardtails arent really expensive and you can find some good deals so i think you should keep looking for a bit.
