  1. I’m a big fan of neo-retro builds. You get the great classic styling and ride quality, but the amazing modern shift performance and style of components. Mate up with some nice deep carbon rims and it’s perfection. I built a Colnago Master Olympic 2 years ago like that and it was chef’s kiss!

I make a point of retaining quill stems though as they are so much more beautiful than modern threadless stems.

  2. You have carbon on the brifters so all alloy is not an option. I would personally use at least a few of the other carbon components to give some continuity. For the crank it might depend on the bike. I would post both on the bike as a fun followup and let people vote.

  3. All depends on other factors like how vintage is the frame set.

If you are going carbon on the wheels then all the carbon bits.

Nice stash of parts man. I would be tempted to pick up a cheap set of low like 38 or shorter carbon wheels the bike.

I did on one of my builds rides great and really with my gravel bike getting the bulk of my hard on a bike miles my vintage stuff is for beautiful days and cafe stops.

Depends on the frame. If it’s a colorful frame I’d go with black, if it has chrome then silver
