    I have a similar ding on a tubeless rear wheel and it still holds air. I’d definitely keep an eye on it but you might get a few more rides out of it.

  2. I had luck by removing the tire, putting the rim on some thick wood, and hitting it from the inside with an hamer on a wooden block.

    Basically only wood should touch the aluminium all around. Take your time and move slowly.

  3. The tube is just there to contain the pressure, nothing else. If it is still holding pressure after the descent, the tire pressure was simply too low for the system weight. Would have happened with any other TPU or butyl tube and even tubeless.

    The only thing that can kind of mitigate this is a tire insert in combination with tubeless.

    Not really relevant to your predicament. You either sent it too hard into a big object, or your tire-pressue was too low when you hit a big object.

    Since I assume you’d like to do fast gravel descends again, I’d replace the rim. It _could_ be fine for more leasurly rides, but I wouldn’t risk it.

    Either way; keep in mind that bending back the rim is the worst possible action to take and will likely result in the rim failing.

    Keep riding it. If the tyre stays on the rim. Ive had them in much worse condition. Dont even bend it back.
