  1. That’s supposedly why many WC DH teams still run 25mm, because there’s less of a chance of flats. I disagree that most new bikes come with 35mm, rather it seems like 30mm is the current “standard” for mtb.

    I have a set of 22mm rims on an XC bike and that’s too narrow, 2.4″ tires get squirmy and burp unless I run high pressures. Most WC XC teams are running 30mm rims and 2.4″ tires with low pressures now. Seems like the sweet spot is 25-30mm for up to 2.5″ tires.
