Looking to pick up an old steel road bike, ride for a bit and eventually build it up with modern compnents (likely 105). Both the Specialized and Centurion are available locally to me.
The Centurion is a 1987, 105 groupset, downtube shifters, Tange 1 tubing and comes with some newer shimano wheels. $300 but I’m assuming there’s some room for negotiation.
Unsure of the year on the Specialized but I’m guessing late 90s? Ultegra/ dura-ace mixed groupset, brifters, $270
Which would you go with? The specialized is a little more modern and comes with nicer components, but I can’t find much info on the frame. The Centurion is just cooler.
