I’m planning on getting a full-frame bag for my bike, however, I was concerned about losing two bottle cages. So I’ve been doing some upgrades on my cockpit to keep things tidy and add some water storage capability.
I’m pretty happy with the setup. I think one improvement would be to replace the bottle cages with fidlock bottles to make things a bit more minimal. I’m also interested to see how the additive spacer holds up when it gets rattled around off-road.
Nice idea with the bottle mounting, looks very accessible. I do have to ask what’s the story behind your lever angles though, it looks like your shoulders would have to stretch unnecessarily?

How do you like the restrap top tube bag?

Is this when a drop bar becomes a flat bar?

Biggest improvement I see is to stop calling it a cockpit

I can feel the bruises on my knees from banging off those bottle cages with every pedal stroke while standing. I’ve used the Revelate mountain feedbags for races and events where my knees were hitting them while standing, but at least they are fabric.

At some point, maybe you just want flat bars? Where is the drop on those d drops?
Never really understood bars like this. If all you do is ride gnarly trails a flat bar is better. And if you ride a mix, a more traditional drop bar is better (if you like drop bars, if not just go flat).

My hands hurt from just looking at the STI angle.

This just doesn’t make sense.
