There were major innovations in mountain bike geometry around 2012-2013, lots of people would say it doesn’t make sense to buy anything older than 2015 era because of this.
That being said, it would also not be much of an upgrade from your 2009. If you have closer to 500$ sitting around I imagine there’s a used 2016-2020 with your name on it.
