I’m always shopping for bikes and parts and fun stuff but rarely do I actually find a gem. Then Marketplace tosses up something irresistible.
I do not need a new Fatbike and none of the parts on my current fatbike will work with this frame but I have just enough parts bin stuff around that a wheel set and fork can make me a complete bike.
Twin Six, a Minneapolis company, released this frame I think in 2017 and sold until maybe 2020. A lot of the reviews and bikes in hands are around 2018 so I’m not really sure how many or how long they sold.
They called it the Standard Fat and made only this model. 177 rear and designed to be thu or QR compatible using replaceable dropouts. External cable routing and no dropper.
I want to build this up with Wolftooth components and a carbon fork but the other details are up in the air and will include a mix of SRAM crankset and brakes with SLX drivetrain. No dropper routing so if I go that way I’ll need to get someone to drill a hole or use external.
