    It’s called doing preventative maintenance every few rides. Tighten bolts, oil the chain, check tire pressure etc…

  3. The little bits at the end of your fork that keep your front wheel in place when the QR skewer is only a little loose are called lawyers. They can buy you little bit of time, but its limited at best. Today they were able to reach a settlement of a minor skin tax and a few days with bruises. Remember this, next time you might not be as fortunate!
    Satire and warnings aside, I’m happy you are ok. I have absolutely done this more than once. Fun fact, if this happens in the grass, your bike will stick like a lawn dart. You will not.
