  1. probably yes but i’d say depends on your riding. ride mostly short distances in good weather on flat roads? you can probably stretch it a bit more. but you’re right at the point where you should probably replace (about a mm of pad material)

  2. You’ve already got them off, for the price of new pads I would definitely replace.

  3. You can run it until the spring touch the rotor. It won’t damage the rotor and it might make some noise. But i also once had the spring catch the rotor and get pulled out of the brake caliper at the top of a hill. It made some horrible noise. That was an interesting descent with only the back brake working.

  4. I would wait. Buy a cheap caliper and measure the thickness if you really want to be sure.

Take a hint from auto mechanics: if you’re mucking around in the calipers, just replace the pads because they’re cheap and just as easy to replace as reinstalling the old ones.

  6. If it’s a big hassle for you to remove pads you could replace them now. But there’s still life left and they look to be wearing fairly evenly so I would run them longer. Just because things are cheap doesn’t mean it’s a nice idea to throw away serviceable parts.
