Brake pad sticks to one side when I brake?

There is a special tool that the video shows, if you don’t want to buy it the tool isn’t needed. Make the the brake is properly tightened. You’ll need a medium sized flat head screw driver and a small hammer or mallet. For you, place the screw driver on the spring near where it comes out of the pivot bolt and give the screwdriver a small tap. It’ll shift the brake the opposite way, repeat as necessary and increase the force of the blows some if it isn’t moving. Better a series of lighter blows though than one hard one. Make sure you put the screw driver blade perpendicular to the spring so it won’t slip off as easy and a broad drift can also be used instead of the screwdriver. The parktool tool is great but the number of bikes it wouldn’t squeeze into is rather high and the screwdriver method wasn’t uncommon when these kid of brakes were common.

Sometimes, if the brake pad is mounted a little bit too low against the rim and misses the braking surface, the very bottom of the pad will form a little lip (since it not getting worn down by the rim and that little lip will get stuck under the edge of the rim causing that side of the brake to get hung up. Check the bottom part of the pad for a possible lip. If there is one you can trim it flush with the rest of the pad with a blade or sand down. And maybe adjust the pad up a little bit higher on the rim braking surface.
