It’s Saturday 17th August and my first XC outing in the the UK for almost two months (yes, I’ve got plenty of Gumball volbiv footage to edit!) – the forecast was looking good for Worcester Beacon at the north end of the Malvern Hills, but as we all know, forecasts are not always right!

Sit back and enjoy a very tricky flight across the English flatlands… (and don’t forget to count the low saves!)

  1. Came here to say excellent chip shop at Olney and then you flew over my old house at Cold Brayfield and a dear old chums place at Bromham low save #5 some fantastic memories of aviation foolery invoked in that area, thanks very much. I'm typing this in South Africa! Airship sheds at Cardington not hangers old boy.

  2. Fantastic flight Tim and buddies. I studied the forecast on Friday night and saw RASP looking good and also saw the CANP/NOTAM for Worcester Beacon! But I went to Merthyr …. It was greyer, windier and rain was also coming . Anyway brilliant to see your low saves and happy face at the end. I was also happy with my gardening when I got home early grhhhh. We love PG❤

  3. Mind blown. I feel like I am missing out on some XC days here in Northern Sweden that are overcast and a little windy. This rule of getting to base before going downwind on such days is bunk. Cheers for sharing!
