I'm (45m) looking for my first bike in 20+ yrs. The choices out there are overwhelming to say the least. While I'd eventually like to get into a road/gravel bike with drop bars, I think I'd be better off starting with a road/hybrid bike that i can drive on multiple surfaces while I get back I to the hobby. I'm considering the following:
- Trek DualSport 1 Gen 5. I'm willing to move up to the DualSport 2 or 3 but am not finding them in stock anywhere.

-
Specialized Sirrius X 2.0. I'd also the Sirrius (X) 3.0.

Trek FX 1,2, or 3 Disc.

Thank you in advance.

You did your homework.Nothing wrong with any of those, although l think you’d be better off without the Dual Sport. That’s kind of an in-between hybrid/mountain bike, but not really good at either. Of the other three, the BMC has better specs: 1×11, front thru axle, tubeless ready wheels (the bike comes with tubed tires) These are all things pople want, these days, on gravel bikes. Down the road (ha!) you could add bigger, tubeless tires when the originals wear out. They probably use these Vittoria tires to keep the MSRP down. Can you see the BMC in person, or do you have to order it to your house/local bike shop?
